Okay, I really, really loved how dark this book was and just the whole vibe of it.
In some books I’ve read, there can be this really dark atmosphere, but the writing itself doesn’t actually feel dark. This book didn’t have that problem at all. It had such a dark vibe, and the writing actually matched it, which I loved.

She is an absolute powerhouse. I loved that she stood her ground and didn’t just immediately give in to Cain. She had a backbone, and I was here for it.
But can we talk about the chain??? Why was it only mentioned once? Like, did we forget that you have a literal chain around your neck that you cannot take off??? I feel like that should have been a slightly bigger concern LOL.
Overall, this was really good! It’s definitely not my usual type of book, but I honestly don’t regret reading it. The dark atmosphere was done really well, Sutton was such a strong FMC, and I had a really good time reading it.
