It was  a good book I would say and very slow so it took a lot of power to keep on reading. But in later books it's more fast paced I just think the author was trying to set you up for the later books. 

I also might've spoiled it for myself before reading it so that did not help but add it to your TBR because if you get through the first book the rest will come easily.
